Week 1: Victory and Disappointment
As I begin this adventure, I come with a sad story. I was traveling through the wilderness, hoping to catch them all, when I encountered a gym. But wait! This was no ordinary gym, this was a gym where a raid was currently occurring. If you don't know what a raid is, a raid is when a super high CP (combat power) Pokémon spawns, and you and whoever is near the gym at the time can band together to try and defeat it. If you manage to defeat the boss Pokémon, you even get a chance to catch it after! Now, this was no ordinary boss Pokémon, it was the legendary Pokémon, Giratina.
I was absolutely petrified! I could feel myself shaking in fear, in awe of this great beast! I stood there for a good minute, before coming to my senses. I decided that today was the day I would capture this monster and add it to my Pokédex. With no hesitation, I clicked the battle button and the fight commenced. I could feel adrenaline rush through my system as I sent Pokémon after Pokémon to their doom in hopes of whittling down the HP (hit-points) bar of this creature. I watched Pokémon after Pokémon fall to their demise until finally, it was over. I had done it! I had taken down the legendary Pokémon. But here comes the most difficult part. Catching the Pokémon. I remember distinctly being given exactly fourteen Pokéballs. I threw one, and bam! It went into the ball, but then escaped. I threw ball after ball, but for some reason the Giratina kept escaping the ball. Why? I remember looking at the number of Pokéballs I had left, and realizing there was none. The Giratina escaped without being added to my Pokédex.
Silence. I could feel despair and disappointment creep over me. I was in shock. I had spent so much time and effort trying to take down the monster, just to not catch it. I was enraged, irate, even infuriated! How could this happen to me! I was vexed and resentful, until I realized that at the end of the day, it was all going to be ok. Sometimes, life is tough. Not catching the super cool awesome Giratina despite all my hard work was disappointing to say the least, but I thought about all the people who didn't even have the chance to catch to even encounter this Pokémon, and decided to not be upset anymore.
Anyways, on to the Pokémon of the week! This weeks Pokémon is Leafeon. I obtained this Pokémon as an Eevee through a trade, and evolved it into the Leafeon. It is glowing yellow because it is lucky, unlike me.
All in all, I would call this week a success! Even though I really really wanted to catch the Giratina, sometimes in life you can't always get you want. This is truly a life lesson I will take with me wherever I go. I am still thankful that I was able to obtain the super awesome Leafeon, even though it might not be as cool as the Giratina. See you all next week! :)

This is so sad! But the Leafeon is very cool. One of my favorite pokemon because it can photosynthesize!
ReplyDeleteDid you golden razz it
ReplyDeleteI did! In fact, I used fourteen! All for nothing :(.
DeleteIt's ok Daniel, you're still the very best that no one ever was in my eyes. Leafeon is better than Giratina anyway so don't worry about it. Great post!
